Physical oceanographer: Project Director for the COOL Room

What I do:
I'm responsible for the management and operation of the COOL Room and its equipment. I'm also working on ways to expand our ocean monitoring capabilities. I often work with designers and engineers to develop new equipment to sample the ocean, especially new kinds of autonomous underwater vehicles, such as the glider.

What I like best about my job:
I enjoy working with a diversity of undergraduate and graduate students and scientists from all over the country and from different disciplines to work together to understand the coastal ocean.
