Director, Center for Advanced and Sustained Technology (COOL-CAST)

What I do:
I work in the operations center of the Coastal Ocean Observation Lab. In the center we operate a satellite receiving station, an HF radar network, a fleet of gliders, and a cabled observatory. I spend much of my time working with others in the center to ensure that we maintain our near-real time data stream. I also work with people outside the center, looking for new ways that the center can serve different user’s needs.

What I like best about my job:
Each day brings new challenges, interactions, and successes. I have always enjoyed the ocean. Now I have a job that allows me to observe the ocean each and every day.
